George Kirkby - Physiotherapist

George moved to Australia in February 2024 and joined BT Physiotherapy in June. He is from the UK and this is where he trained to be a physiotherapist.

He graduated Sheffield University in 2019 and has been practicing physiotherapy ever since. He spent 4 years working in the public hospital setting rotating through a variety of departments including musculoskeletal, orthopaedics, neurological acute/rehab, cardiovascular physiotherapy working on Intensive care and elderly medicine.

George spent 1.5 years working between a trauma and elective orthopaedic unit working closely with surgeons seeing a wide variety of patients pre and post-operatively. Following on from this he spent 1 year on a neurological rehab ward treating a variety of conditions including stroke and acute brain injuries. George has also gained extensive knowledge and experience in private practice in the UK. He has successfully worked with each of his patient’s recovery whether it be a sporting injury, pre and post-surgery, work related injury and much more.

George’s passion for physiotherapy stem’s from his sporting background having played a high level in multiple sports and experiencing many injuries himself and understanding the importance of early, specific and effective rehabilitation. George also holds a level 2 award in exercise and fitness.

George uses a hands-on approach with his patients utilising manual therapy techniques, soft tissue release and trigger point therapy. He then uses targeted and specific exercise prescription tailored and relevant to the patients’ needs to treat their condition as well as prevent the likelihood of re-injury.

In his spare time George enjoys staying active by going to the gym and playing tennis or golf.

George accepts patients at the Mudjimba Clinic on MON to FRI (7.30am - 6pm). To book an appointment, you can either call the clinic or book online.
